HARTFORD HABITAT FOR HUMANITY

Expanding the purpose of an growing non-profit.

Growth is exciting, but if it doesn’t serve your mission or vision, is it worth the effort? We helped Hartford Area Habitat for Humanity renew their vision so they could grow with intention.

CHALLENGE

With solid funding and strong momentum, Hartford Habitat was in a great position to invest in their future. To grow with purpose, they needed to look beyond their immediate expansion and renew a clear vision for the next decade and beyond.

INSIGHTS

Traditional strategic planning is great for tackling immediate goals, but a high definition future vision strengthens your organization’s culture. When you have a strong vision informing your 3 year plans, your team is more empowered to push your organization forward.

Impact

We used Future Visioning exercises and workshops to help Hartford Habitat ask the big “What if” questions and craft their compelling vision. This gave them a clear north star that will guide and validate every decision they make as they grow their influence.

01 / Future Visioning

Finding your north star

When you have a chance to expand your business, it’s important to make sure you do it with purpose. A clear long-term vision will lead you out of the strategic planning weeds and into an intentional future. Before they expanded their services into a new county, we led Hartford Habitat’s leaders through Future Visioning exercises that pushed them to take a high level perspective and renew their vision. As they challenged assumptions and considered who they want to be, they found a clear “north star” to guide every decision they make.

02 / Vision Book

A guidebook to the future

Future visioning gives you a high-definition picture of your destination, but it only has power if it’s written down and shared. As part of our final deliverable, we crafted a vision book that was designed to be distributed. This book tells the story of where they are and where they’re going, a guidebook that will lead their whole community far beyond the next three years.
